Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDs) and Youth Vaping: What Providers Need to Know

November 12, 2020, 3-4 p.m. ET

Growing research shows that use of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDs), also known as e-cigarettes or vaping devices, has significantly increased in the past year among youth. This has noteworthy implications for youth who are particularly vulnerable to the long-term effects of nicotine dependence.

Join representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Center for Tobacco Products and the National Behavioral Health Network for Cancer and Tobacco Control (NBHN) on Thursday, November 12, from 3-4 p.m. ET for a webinar on youth ENDs use.

Experts from the Center for Tobacco Products, Priscilla Callahan-Lyon, MD, director of the Division of Individual Health Science and Alison Kulas, MSPH, health communication specialist, will be joined by Tamanna Patel, MPH, director of practice improvement at the National Council for Behavioral Health to discuss:

Implications of ENDs for youth with mental health and substance use disorders.
Short and long-term impact of ENDs and nicotine on adolescents.
The science and regulatory process behind ENDs.
Resources on effective campaigns to engage youth in preventing ENDs use.
Our tobacco cessation experts will also launch a supplementary free resource guide that provides information and tools to better facilitate conversations about the risks of youth ENDs use and strategies for supporting cessation.
