Over 45 percent of U.S. adults believe children’s exposure to secondhand aerosol from e-cigarette products causes no harm or little/some harm, and 1 in 3 don’t know if it causes harm.

Current and former cigarette smokers and e-cigarette product users have greater odds than non-users of perceiving no harm toward children from secondhand e-cigarette aerosol exposure. Efforts are warranted to educate the public about the health risks of secondhand e-cigarette aerosol exposure, particularly for children.
