Many behavioral health providers remember the days of cigarettes being used as part of a client’s treatment plan, or even a way for clients and clinicians to bond. With research demonstrating that tobacco use can worsen symptoms and impede recovery, there is a clear need for organizations to get creative with their approaches to tobacco cessation. Join this webinar to learn how two Community Mental Health Centers and a local NAMI chapter have pursued different approaches in educating staff, clients and expanding referrals for tobacco treatment as part of their larger organizational change processes.

During this webinar, participants will learn about:

  • Applying effective health promotion efforts;
  • Utilizing creative approaches to educate clients about tobacco cessation, such as art projects, health coaches, carbon monoxide testing, and others; and
  • Changing workflows, gaining staff buy-in, and educating staff around tobacco cessation.
